the compass is dumb and chinese crap
Just what I needed!
This is a beautiful natural bamboo walking staff. I ordered it for my 65 year-old mother's birthday as she had "lost" her old one.<br /><br />The rubber grip is perfect to help her keep her balance and the bamboo is light enough that it's not a burden to carry. She is 5 feet tall and the length of the staff (51"), while maybe a hair short for some people (depending on your preference), is just about the length she likes.<br /><br />The leather strap is a Godsend. It will keep the staff attached to her while she juggles keys, i.e. she will not leave it outside and have it stolen again.<br /><br />The compass is a bit cheesy/cheap, but that was not a feature for which the staff was purchased. Just thought I'd mention it if anybody might actually think about using it. After some juggling and trying to get the compass to float level, it appears that it can actually find North.<br /><br />The bamboo is nice and smooth has a 100% natural beauty. This is a very decent quality item at a super reasonable price. I will definitely buy one of these again if the need arises.
