The best scented strong exfoliator I have had
I don't like wimpy, smooth can't-tell-it-is-an-exfoliator so many are. So realize that is a preference. But this has great granules that soften then dissolve over time. The scent though is just stunning. I can't even describe it but wow! If you want a real exfoliator and love a good smell... go for it this is your product!
Love the smell!
I really like the smell, not crazy about the black it washes off pretty good but have to make sure it gets rinsed from all parts of the shower or makes shower look bad.
Delightful Tropical Scrub
Upon opening the jar, I could smell the papaya, flower extract, and sugar. It smells fruity, sweet, and yet floral all at once. I personally love the smell and I can still smell it even hours after using it in the shower. It works much like any other scrub you would get in a jar. Scoop some out and rub your skin in circles. I used it after I washed myself with soap to open up my pores more. My husband also used it as well. We both used it all over the entirety of our bodies.<br /><br />I love the blackness of the scrub so you can really see how much skin you are scrubbing. Also, my shower is white, but there was no staining. Just simple rinse your shower if some lingers on the bathtub edge. After a thorough rinse, my skin felt silky smooth. I mostly smell like papaya now although I can smell the floral notes on my husband.<br /><br />We both really love this sugar scrub. Do note this is not as harsh as a salt scrub. I would say this is more relaxing to get your skin silky smooth and a more clean feeling. I have to say it takes me make to Thailand when I have gotten scrubs there. My skin feels just as good.<br /><br />For the price of $20 dollars, the quality is there, even though you can get more quantity with other brands. I will definitely be purchasing this whenever I run out of this jar. Personally, you cannot beat quality and I think it is worth the price. My husband and I were absolutely delighted with this tropical scrub and cannot wait to use it again!

I am in love with this lava product! I love a great exfoliator! when I leave my job at night, I am soooo greasy, oily, and floury that I just want to rip off the dirty day in the shower with a great cleanser. I always felt that a scrub couldn't have enough exfoliating power for me, but I may have met my match with this 1. its super gritty and its DEFINITELY NOT FOR PEOPLE WITH SENSITIVE SKIN! at 1 point I thought that it might be to strong even for my iron face. the product is black and very thick, so u only need a little bit. I cleansed my face with it, and now my forehead feels baby soft. the rest of my face also feels AMAZING, but my silky smooth forehead is what is really standing out for me. I would be sure to be extra gentile when u r applying this to ur skin. I will definitely be adding this product to my top 3 super take the day off products and I will be sure to reorder it when it eventually runs out. I hope this was helpful.
Pina Colada-ish smell, Very Gritty, Good Scrub
This isn't that scrub that you use every single day, its more for those occasional deep cleanings, and exfoliating. Or just for a good at home spa treatment. The size of the jar, and the amount of product is fairly small but it doesn't take much to get a good facial cleansing. To me, it smells very much like a Pina Coloda, but not over powering just a nice fresh scent.<br /><br />The scrub itself is has a medium sized grit, and its feels fairly "sharp" against the skin. Also, this isn't great for rubbing on and then taking a long soak in a tub, it turns the water black. I was worried it would stain my towels, the floor, tub something, but it didn't.<br /><br />This scrub is fairly specialized and is one of those love it or hate it things. I gave it 5 stars because the quality is excellent, the ingredients are top notch, and it has a pleasant smell. But it has to be tried before you'll know if its right for you.
Moderate scrubbiness. Left my skin soft, although irritated at first. The scent is overwhelming.
I love that this scrub contains such good ingredients. It's also a bit abrasive, which is something I appreciate. It goes on thick, but thins down while retaining a moderate amount of scrubbiness. The scrub in the container looks black at first, but as I spread it across my face and scrub it in, the areas that are scrubbed turn gray. It lets me see where I've already worked the product, and lets me focus on areas I want to put more pressure. I use a spatula to apply it so I am not constantly putting my hands into the container.<br /><br />It says to use gentle circles, but I find that I am probably a little more aggressive. It does make it abrasive against my fingertips, so I have started using a little facial scrubber for applications. I have some dry patches, as well as light acne scaring and this scrub seems to really take the outer layer off of those areas for better cell turn over.<br /><br />The scrub is potent, and the only negatives for me are that it leaves me feeling oily once I rinse off and the scent is overwhelmingly tropical. I am sure the scent is great for some, but I am not overly into the pineapple, papaya, and coconut like scent. Those may not be the exact fragrance ingredients, but they are what I am reminded of. I can get through the scent to scrub my face, but it does leave behind some residual smell afterwards along with a fair amount of slickness and oiliness. I actually go ahead and use a toner on my face afterwards to pull off as much leftover scent and oils as I can because of personal preference.<br /><br />The price at $20 is fair for me. A little bit of this will go a long way, it has solid ingredients, and it's an abrasive scrub that actually works to pull imperfections to the surface and turn over the outer layer of skin cells and damage. If the scent were more mild, and the formula less oily, this would be 5 stars for me. A little too abrasive for my face but WONDERFUL as a body scrub
I have pretty sensitive skin, so I tried a bit on my face before fully committing and it was a little too rough for me. However, I absolutely love it as an exfoliant for my hands, chest and arms. It smells awesome, not too perfumey. The charcoal is dark and will definitely show up on your sink or bathtub, make sure you wipe it all down when you're finished or it'll look pretty dirty.
